1. How many vessels operate in your fleet? Total number of vessels ≥5000 GT calling at EU/EEA ports

2. What percentage of your voyages involve EU/EEA ports? EU ETS applies to all voyages to/from/within EU/EEA regardless of flag

EU ETS Core Requirements

3. Do you have an active Maritime Operator Holding Account (MOHA)? Required in Union Registry to purchase and surrender allowances

4. Do you have a contract with an accredited verifier? DNV, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's Register, ABS, etc.

5. Is your MRV Monitoring Plan approved and current? Must have been submitted by April 1, 2024 and kept updated

NEW FOR 2026

6. Have you updated systems to monitor CH₄ (methane) and N₂O (nitrous oxide)? MANDATORY from January 1, 2026 - all vessels must track these gases

7. Have you updated your Monitoring Plan to include CH₄ and N₂O? Monitoring plans must be amended to cover new greenhouse gases

8. For LNG vessels: Do you have methane slip monitoring? If you don't operate LNG vessels, select "N/A"

Current Status

9. Status of your 2025 emissions report (due March 31, 2026)? Must include CO₂, CH₄, and N₂O for all 2025 voyages

10. Have you budgeted for EU allowance surrender (Sept 30, 2026)? Must cover 70% of 2025 emissions (CO₂e including CH₄ and N₂O)

FuelEU & CII

11. Can you calculate your fleet's GHG intensity (gCO₂e/MJ)? Required for FuelEU compliance - 2026 target is 89.34 gCO₂e/MJ

12. Are you aware FuelEU penalties are €2,400 per MT VLSFO equivalent? Fixed penalty, not linked to carbon market prices

13. Do you know your fleet's current CII ratings? Ratings from A (best) to E (worst) - D/E ratings require corrective plans
